Easter on the Gold Coast 2019
Easter is one of the most widely celebrated holiday seasons across Australia. In all states and territories, Good Friday and Easter Monday are public holidays that create a 4-day long weekend.
Friday 19 April 2019 – Good Friday
Saturday 20 April 2019 – the day after Good Friday
Sunday 21 April 2019 – Easter Sunday
Monday 22 April 2019 – Easter Monday
So what’s on and what do you need to know for 2019 on the Gold Coast!
On the Thursday before Good Friday (Good Friday Eve), the sale and supply of alcohol is only permitted until 12 midnight and patrons in restaurants and bars still have until 12.30am to finish their drinks and leave the premises. All gaming machines also stop at 12 midnight on Good Friday Eve.
Most stores and shopping centres will be closed on Good Friday. You are not permitted to purchase takeaway alcohol on Good Friday, nor will Liquor Stores be open. Patrons in some dining venues can buy alcohol for 1 hour before, during and 1 hour after eating their meal.
