What will your day look like?
Your adventure begins with a comprehensive safety briefing where you’ll be fitted into your harness and introduced to your tandem instructor. You’ll learn the basics of the jump, including body position, what to expect during freefall, under canopy and landing. No previous experience is required; tandem skydiving allows anyone with a sense of adventure to experience the incredible feeling of jumping from an aircraft while securely harnessed to a qualified instructor.
Once you’re geared up, it’s time to board the plane. As you climb to an altitude of up to 12,000 feet, the excitement builds. During the 20-minute flight, you’ll enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the Gold Coast, stretching from the sparkling Pacific Ocean and famous golden beaches to the lush hinterland beyond. Keep an eye out for Surfers Paradise, Coolangatta, Kirra Beach and, on a clear day, you may even spot whales migrating along the coastline during the winter months.
When the aircraft door opens, there’s only one thing left to do…take the leap.
Experience up to 45 seconds of exhilarating freefall, reaching speeds of around 200km/h as you soar through the sky. It’s an adrenaline rush unlike anything else and one that’s often described as surprisingly peaceful despite the incredible speed. Every second is filled with pure excitement as you take in uninterrupted views of one of Australia’s most beautiful coastlines.
At around 4,500 feet, your instructor deploys the parachute and the adventure transforms completely. The rush of freefall gives way to a peaceful five-minute canopy flight, allowing you to glide effortlessly above the coastline while soaking in the incredible scenery. Your instructor will even show you how to steer the parachute, giving you the chance to experience flying beneath the canopy before descending towards the beach.
