
Running from the 4th to 20th March 2016, the Bleach Festival on the Gold Coast includes over 50 arts and cultural events.
Covering music, theatre, dance visual arts, film and circus performances this festival is a magnet for those who enjoy the arts.
Quintessentially Gold Coast, Bleach Festival celebrates the city’s best artists, welcomes renowned Australian and international collaborators and engages a broad audience through a range of accessible events.

The Closet Activist

Meet at the Bike Village in Burleigh where you will mount a lovingly restored recycled bike and ride to the Farmhouse in Miami. There you will watch a fun dance performance, with its sound and lighting generated by the audience members on bikes. Truly a unique and exciting show!

Toolona Street Festival + Eco Challenge

Tugun’s most famous resident, the iconic 90-year-old Moreton Bay Fig Tree takes centre stage once again as Bleach Festival’s series of infamous street parties roll on. Witness a 100% solar powered, sustainable surfing lifestyle event that evolved from a love of the ocean, and features a wooden surfboard competition, displays, eco-market stalls and much more.

The Last Blast

What do you do when the world is ending? To quote Prince, you “Party like it’s 1999.” The Gold Coast’s most iconic strip of sand at Surfers Paradise is the stage as talented performers send their bodies flying into the sky and the thunder of drums out to sea. Emerging at dusk to mark the end of the world with a bourgeois party to end all bourgeois parties, this is a fun and entertaining theatrical dance show not to be missed!

Made in QLD: The Culture Shop — In a collaboration between Gold Coast City Gallery and Bleach* Festival, local artists have been invited to create contemporary and authentic Gold Coast souvenirs. Check out the unique wares at the Made in QLD: The Culture Shop, a freestanding tourist and souvenir booth located in the foyer of The Strand, Coolangatta.
