With summer just around the corner, now is the perfect time to start planning your adventures and explore the breezy coastlines or head into the country for those perfect trips away from the everyday city life. If you’re planning a road trip with friends, family or just going at it solo- here’s some essentials you should include:
1) A Playlist
Depending on where you travel to, radio reception may be very limited or you’ll end up hearing the same songs on repeat. Create a playlist with old favorites that everyone will enjoy as well as including some songs you can sing along to. These will help keep you energized during any long drives. For something different, why not even download an audiobook you can enjoy.
2) Sunscreen
You’ll be amazed how much your arms will tan during road trips and although a bit of color is ideal, you want to stay safe and protected from the harsh rays of the Australian sun, even if it’s not even that hot. UV rays can get pretty crazy during the day so slap on some sunscreen with 50+ always recommended..
3) Keep hydrated
Stocking up on water is a must. Plan ahead so you can avoid paying the premium service station prices. Water also comes in handy if you need to add any to an overheated radiator or add some more to your windscreen wiper tank. Why not keep it in a thermice for those hot days.
4) Map it out
We rely so heavily on technology these days that it becomes a nuisance when we can’t get internet reception. Have a map or a referdex as a backup plan, marking out service stations, points of interest and backup routes in case roads are closed or blocked off due to unforeseen events.
5) Handy towelettes
Towelettes are so convenient and handy for trips away. They can clean dirty windscreens, clean up unexpected messes in the car, keep hands clean if you need to put air in your tires, and save you in situations if a restroom is out of toilet paper!
6) Dress comfortably
If you’re driving for long periods of time, dress for comfort. You don’t want to be restricted by a tight pair of jeans, or to wear material that doesn’t allow you to breathe causing unwanted body odor.
7) Phone Charger
This handy item is a lifesaver to preserve your phone battery! A must for every car.
